(In-Library Use ONLY) Search census, birth, marriage, death records and more from Australia, the U.K., U.S., Canada, Germany, & other countries. Ancestry.com Learning Center has a wealth of tips and guides on how to start your family history search.
Births, Deaths & Marriages
(links for all states) – Contains web links to historical State and Territory birth, death and marriage records. Each site allows you to specify, last name, first name and the approximate year of the event.
State Library of Queensland Family history info guides
Contains guides that assist Family History researchers in tracing their heritage through resources such as Blue Books, Police Gazettes, convict databases, censuses and musters, electoral rolls, directories and almanacs, immigration and land records, naturalizations, newspapers, publican indexes, adoption, parish records and more.
Queensland State Archives
Has brief guides and research tips for family history research, and links to the State Archives collections. They also have a YouTube channel with helpful videos for researchers. Get started with this short introduction video:

Search for billions of names across hundreds of records in a bid to discover your family history. Records span from countries around the world and include births, deaths, marriages, probates, land and military.
AIATSIS – Family History Kit
Contains fact sheets that provide assistance with tracing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
National Archives Family History information
Includes how-tos and tips on conducting family history research, how to look after your photos & documents, as well as access to the online collection of records and photographs held by the National Archives.
Australian Cemeteries
Contains indexes of cemeteries from all State and Territories of Australia. Search by surname or cemetery name to find transcripts of the gravesites as they appear onsite.
Cyndi’s List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet
Contains lists of webpages that have relevant search indexes and information for family historians. Information is taken from records across the world and includes links such as Philippines Births and Family tree quilting ideas.
Judy Webster’s Genealogy Advice
Contains tips and tricks on researching your Queensland family’s history. The site has advice, indexes and services including tips on where to start your search.

A searchable index that contains 3,813,239 death notices and obituaries from 217 Australian newspapers (predominantly New South Wales content).
