The Viva Cribb Local History Collection was officially opened on 21 July 2000. The collection was named after Viva Cribb, the great granddaughter of Benjamin Cribb. Mr Cribb was the founder of Cribb & Foote Department Store, established at Bell Street, Ipswich in 1849 as London Stores.
The purpose of the collection is to ensure the preservation of information and resources specifically related to the history of Ipswich and the surrounding region for present and future generations.
